It has been my privilege and honor to serve as your president for the past four years. My final presidential act will be to fulfill the pleasant duty of reporting to you all of the great things that our Club accomplished in 2022.
To me, our most significant accomplishment was the reactivation of our Activists Committee by new Chair Dorothy Fontanella. Dorothy led a group of nearly one hundred volunteers who registered voters, wrote postcards for candidates, helped the county party with slate cards, and organized poll watchers to further our mission to Turn WilCo Blue.
Our PAC also contributed $57,500 to support candidates and also the WCDP's Coordinated Campaign. Our contributions to the county party helped fund three separate mailings that went to voters who are likely to vote for Democrats, but who don't vote every election. You didn't see those mailings because you are a strong Democrat.
In making those contributions, our PAC was guided by the results of a survey of our members. Many thanks to our members who gave to our PAC by both monthly and annual contributions, as well as supporting two fundraising events.
The first of those fundraisers featured a multi-media show from members of the cast of Esther's Follies. I suggested inviting them and through the persistence of PAC Chair Cindy Graham we were able to pull the event off despite the challenges of Covid. I will continue as PAC Chair.
Although our efforts didn't produce the results that we wanted, we are now better equipped to succeed in future elections and to Turn WilCo Blue. Our Club is strong with over 550 dues-paying members.
As the new year dawns, leadership will be in the capable hands of Trish Lopaki. And I give thanks to all of you who have supported me and our Club these last four years.
