vOLUNTEER DEPUTY REGISTRARS |
Volunteer Deputy Registrars help register eligible citizens to vote by distributing, reviewing, and accepting completed voter registration applications. A VDR must be trained and appointed by the County Elections office to accept voter registration applications.
Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR) All current VDR Certificates of Appointment will expire on December 31, 2026. VDRs help register eligible citizens to vote by distributing, reviewing, and accepting voter registration applications. They are appointed by county voter registrars to increase voter registration. The easiest way to become a VDR is to take the online class and pass the quiz with 80% or better. It is best to become a VDR in both Travis and Williamson counties, since many of our voter registration events will have residents from both counties. Self-paced training and quiz for Williamson and Travis counties are available on their websites. Sun City Dems will keep a current list of all certified VDRs. We then pass our roster of Sun City VDRs to League of Women Voters in Williamson County. They will put you on their VDR list and regularly send you opportunities to sign up for voter registration events. It will include community events as well as registering new voters at the high schools. Both are great experiences. Once you have completed your online class and passed the quiz, email your name, address, phone number and email address to [email protected] to be added to the Sun City Dems VDR roster.
